Details of the BBC Coverage
In the UK, the BBC was the host broadcaster for LIVE 8 London with coverage
across BBC ONE, TWO and THREE, with radio broadcasts on Radio's 1 and 2, the BBC
World Service and across the BBC's regional stations.
Commercial Radio also broadcast live from backstage at Hyde Park and
The Museum of Art in Philadelphia, with reporters at every live 8 gig across the
world across 200+
stations.

BBC coverage has been announced, and covers both TV and radio
(which
is streamed online at www.bbc.co.uk).
Here's the Live 8 concert details:

BBC TELEVISION
2 July: Live 8 Live
BBC TWO, 1.00-4.00pm
BBC ONE, 4.00-9.30pm (approx)
For those not lucky enough to win tickets to the Live 8 concerts,
the disappointment was short lived as Jonathan Ross kick started the
BBC's coverage of the world's biggest rock concert in London's Hyde
Park.
As the action unfolded live on the stage, Jonathan took viewers to
the very heart of the event, reporting from a specially built, all
seeing pod set just above the live acts.
Jo Whiley and Fearne Cotton caught the bands as they came on and off
stage and keeped viewers up to date with all of the backstage action.
Bob Geldof, Bono, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Robbie Williams, Elton
John, Sting and Chris Martin were just some of the big names that
were interviewed by the BBC team of live 8 presenters.
Not only did they bringing all of the London Concert live, but they
also included the best of the music from Paris, Berlin and Rome.
2 July: Live 8 Crosses the Atlantic
BBC ONE, 10.00pm (approx) to 3.00am (approx)
As America geared up to go live Jonathan Ross the BBC took a
look back at the excitement of the day, reflecting on the event with
organizer Bob Geldof.
Then crossing over live to the States, Graham Norton was on hand to
bring viewers back home the excitement of the amazing line up from
Philadelphia.
2 July: Live 8 Reloaded
BBC THREE, 7.00pm-5.00am
The whole Live 8 experience from Europe and America from start to
finish for those who missed it earlier in the day.
Live 8 USA
BBC THREE, 7.00pm-4.00am
The whole of the Live 8 Philadelphia show as seen last night in America,
hosted by Will Smith and featuring a galaxy of American superstars.

BBC RADIO
BBC Radio offered the complete picture of Live 8, with live broadcasts
from the event in London and the concerts around the world, as well
as news updates and analysis of the issues that have brought musicians
together.
In addition to the programs on 2 July, many networks examined
the background to the event before and after the show.
Radio 1
2 July: 1.00pm-1.00am
Radio 1 broadcast live throughout the day from Hyde Park - with Radio
1 DJs including Sara Cox, Vernon Kay and Chris Moyles bringing listeners
coverage of some the best bands in the world.
To give a flavor of the other Live 8 concerts happening around the
world, Radio 1's Newsbeat reported live from Paris, Berlin and
Rome.
In a specially extended version of the rap show from 9pm, Tim Westwood
caught up with the events in Philadelphia.
Radio 2
2 July: 1.00pm-8.00pm (approx)
Chris Evans, Davina McCall and Dermot O'Leary host Radio 2's coverage.
Chris was side stage talking to artists pre and post performance and
speaking to audiences watching the concert via big screens around
the UK.
Davina and Dermot were out and about, talking to performers backstage
and to the audience enjoying the concert in the park.
Radio 4
4 July - Live 8: A Backstage Story
Jon Ronson spent the day in Hyde Park, behind the scenes of the Live
8 Concert.
In his own unmistakable style, Jon unearthed the stories that hadn't
been told anywhere else. He spoke to the people who made it happen
from runners to sound men, make up artists to caterers and the occasional
celebrity.
He was able to record the triumphs, frustrations, the tensions and
joys and of course the humor behind staging this major event.
Radio Five Live
2 July, 6.00-8.00am - Weekend Breakfast
2 July, 10.00am-noon - Live 8 Special
2 July, 7.00pm-10.00pm - Weekend News
In the morning, Brian Alexander was in Hyde Park ahead of the UK's
Live 8 gig, soaking up the atmosphere and speaking to the organizers.
Phil Williams was also in Hyde Park all day behind the scenes speaking
to the artists as they go on and come off stage.
6 Music
From Monday 4 July to Thursday 7 July, Jane Gazzo's Dream Ticket featured
Live 8 organizer Midge Ure introducing some of the highlights of the
London event. The show was heard between 10pm and 1am each night.
World Service
The BBC World Service brought the event to the global audience.
