Live 8 London: UK concert review (cont.)

Live 8 London Rocks On

Keane were up next and even though I could hear them, I couldn't see them from the bathrooms. I made my way back just as they were finishing up "Bedshaped".

In my opinion Travis a top act anyway, but at Live 8 London they ripped the place to shreds Everyone in the crows was singing along to "Why Does it Always Rain on Me?", and they even managed to fit a little Bee Gees' snippet "Stayin Alive" into their song "Side". Way to go Travis. Travis was one of the bands that was able to have a little laugh up on the stage. That seemed real important to the Live 8 Hyde Park event. So many of the acts came out acting serious and then did something stupid that seemed to nullify their "acting concerned".

Annie Lennox was next up and she took the stage like the class act that she is. She covered "Why"' "Little Bird" and follwed up with the classic Eurythmics song "Sweet Dreams". A nice addition to Live 8 UK.

Brad Pitt did his announcement, but I wasn't listening. Some guy was trying to sell me bootleg copies of the original Live Aid concert. I was kinda surprised that someone didn't report him.

Up next on the Live8 London stage was UB40. They did four songs but I only really knew the last two. "Red, Red Wine" and "I Can't Help Falling In Love". They were a nice change and the crowd seemed to enjoy their numbers.

Snoopy Dogg was next up. He has a ton of stage presence, but could use a little voice lessons. The first track was nice, but I could have lived without any of the next couple of songs and where is "Gin and Juice"?

Razorlight is a band I have followed for a very long time. They were luscious, playing for all at Live 8 London. They still put all the effort into the music.

Sir Bob Geldof was next to hit the stage and explain why they were doing the whole Live 8 thing and about the G8. He had a heartfelt speech and the crowd really got a clue about why they were there with the "Drive" video. I had seen this video way back in 1985 and it would have been a could call to get some new footage.
