![]() Stereophonics at Live 8Stereophonics are a Welsh music group that was formed in 1992. They were originally known as Tragic Love Company, a name inspired by three of their favorite bands Tragically Hip, Mother Love Bone and Bad Company. They began out as a teenage cover band and later, changed their name to “Stereophonics”. Apparently the name came from a tag on Stuart's grandmohter's gramophone. Shortly after Stereophonics changed their name, they signed to Richard Branson's V2 label in August 1996. Stereophonics best known songs include a cover of Chris Farlowe's "Handbags and Gladrags", "Mr. Writer", "Have a Nice Day", and "Maybe Tomorrow". Over the years, Stereophonics have gained recognition with their albums Performance and Cocktails, Just Enough Education to Perform You Gotta Go There To Come Back and more recently Language. Sex. Violence. Other? Stereophonics music CDs and Live 8 DVDs. |
